A conference for students from students!
Last year's 1st IPK Student Conference was a huge success and so we have decided to repeat it once more this year in a similar fashion.
There will be again two days full of exciting talks given by your fellow PhD or Diplom students of the IPK and also by PhD students of the IPB in Halle and the Max-Planck-Institute in Golm. For the first time we will also have poster sessions like at any international conference.
This year our conference will be enriched by Prof. Dr. Neil Jones (University of Wales, Aberystwyth) who will present his research as the opening talk and join us for the whole conference. Furthermore we have invited Prof. Dr. Beat Keller (University of Zurich) who will give a Gatersleben Lecture on the first day of presentations and join us for this day. And for the second day of presentations Prof. Dr. Klaus Ammann (former director of the Botanic Garden, University of Bern) has been invited to give the opening talk.
There will be prizes for the best three talks and three posters (see sponsors page) which should encourage all of you to give really great talks and design nice posters. The decision about the best talks will be taken by a jury consisting of 6 members (Prof. Neil Jones, group leaders and PostDocs of the IPK) and for the best posters the participants themselves will be allowed to vote.
As a social highlight we will go on a hiking trip through the Selketal and visit the medieval castle Burg Falkenstein in the beautiful Harz mountains - a great opportunity to get to know each other more personally! And of course there will be another glorious closing party with good food!
