Overview
After a successful Plant Science Student Conference 2009 at the IPB Halle, the Plant Science Student Conference 2010 was held at the IPK Gatersleben.
As in the last years the conference was three days full of fascinating talks, poster sessions and social activities. Beside PhD students from the IPK Gatersleben and the IPB Halle, PhD students from all over Europe take part in the conference.
The conference was enriched by three guest speakers: Prof. Dr. Marc van Montagu (President of the European Federation of Biotechnology), Prof. Dr. Ralf Reski (Faculty of Biology, University of Freiburg) and Theo Biedermann (Board Member of Profidunia AG, Zug, Switzerland).
A jury of senior scientists awarded the three best talks and posters, so every participant was encouraged to give a great talk or designed a nice poster!
As social highlights we went for a hiking trip in the nearby Harz mountains (former inner German border) to have the opportunity to get in closer contact to each other. And of course we had an amazing party for the closing of the conference!
